Tokaj spelled backwards, because Radikon's Friulano refused to keep sharing a name with a wine from Hungary.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Friulano (Sauvignonasse), from 25-year-old vines grown in the hills of Oslavia, Friuli, on the Slovenian border. Like the estate's Ribolla Gialla, it grows in 'ponca' — layered clay and sandstone flysch from an ancient seabed that gives the wine its stony minerality.
Taste Profile: Remarkably approachable for an orange wine, with notes of dried apricot, orange peel, peach, stony minerals and almonds. Fresh and well-balanced on the palate, with real ageing potential — drink now or hold for up to 20 years.
Winemaking Process: Grapes are handpicked at peak ripeness, then given a long 3-month maceration on the skins. The wine ages 3 years in barrel and a further year in bottle, with no added sulphur, fining or filtration before bottling.
Winemaker: The name was Stanko Radikon's wife Suzana's idea — a playful jab at the old "Tocai Friulano" naming dispute, spelling Tokaj backwards to sidestep it entirely. It's become such a fixture of the estate's identity that other winemakers now borrow the name for their own Friulano cuvées. Since Stanko's passing in 2016, his son Saša — raised among these vines and trained more in the cellar than in the classroom — has carried the wine, and its cheeky name, forward.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
