Italo Cescon "Il Tralcetto" Pinot Grigio delle Venezie DOC 2024
Intense, elegant and perfectly balanced, like a poised ballerina.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Pinot Grigio from vines across Fagarè, Vallonto and Fontanelle in Veneto, Italy, planted on clay soil of alluvial origin.
Taste Profile: Straw yellow in colour, with an intense and elegant nose of fruity peach and citrus aromas alongside baking spice. On the palate, a dry and fresh sensation enhances elegant fruity flavours; a crisp character balanced by roundness leaves the palate with perfect balance and a very pleasant finish.
Winemaking Process: After crushing and destemming, gentle pressing gives 50% of run juice. Alcoholic fermentation runs for 15 days under controlled temperature of 13°C, followed by 5 to 6 months of maturation on the yeasts. After racking and filtration, the wine spends a further 3 months ageing in bottle.
Winemaker: Italo Cescon founded his winery in Ormelle, in the Piave area of Treviso province, in 1957, following the path of his grandfather Domenico, a Raboso del Piave producer. Where most local growers sold in bulk, Italo chose from the start to bottle his entire production, earning a loyal following among the osterie and restaurants of Treviso thanks partly to the estate's distinctive Tralcetto bottle and rustic, hand-written label. After flood damage to the Piave river in 1967, the family relocated to their current farm in Roncadelle, and the estate has since grown to around 110 hectares, 16 of which converted to organic farming in 2009. Since the 1990s, Italo's children Gloria, Graziella and Domenico have carried the winery forward with the same drive their father instilled in them.

Started in 1957, they expanded to have vineyards in San Polo di Piave & Roncadelle, regions in Veneto, as well as Lombardy. Their signature mark is the knotting of a branch to the neck of the bottle, to represent something precious to be safegaurded.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
