Aragon - The Birthplace of Spanish Garnacha & Carinena
The Aragon region of Spain is located in the northeastern part of the country and is known for producing bold, full-bodied wines. The climate in Aragon is continental, with hot summers and cold winters.
Two of the most important wine regions in Aragon are Campo de Borja and Carinena. Campo de Borja is known for producing rich, fruity red wines made from the Garnacha grape, which is also known as Grenache. The wines of Campo de Borja are typically medium to full-bodied with flavors of ripe berries and a hint of spice.
Carinena is another important wine region in Aragon and is known for producing bold, tannic red wines made from the Garnacha and Tempranillo grapes. These wines are typically aged in oak barrels, which gives them a complex flavor profile with notes of vanilla, spice, and toasted oak.
In addition to Garnacha and Tempranillo, other grape varieties grown in Aragon include Mazuela, Monastrell, and Macabeo for white wines
