Made by the man who single-handedly kept qvevri winemaking alive in Georgia when only five producers still used it.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Chinuri, one of Georgia's finest grape varieties, from Iago's 60-year-old, 2-hectare vineyard in clay and limestone soil in the Mukhran Valley, part of the Kartli wine region — one of the best-known historic vineyard sites in Georgia.
Taste Profile: Opens with a floral nose quickly chased by hints of stone fruit and citrus. A pure and fresh palate with full texture and bright acidity, showing orange citrus, apricot and honey flavours over a mineral backbone.
Winemaking Process: Light crushing of the grapes precedes whole-bunch fermentation in traditional qvevri clay vessels with skin contact. The wine matures for 6 months in qvevri before bottling.
Winemaker: Iago Bitarishvili began bottling his own wine in 2003 in the village of Chardakhi, determined to revive the true traditional winemaking of his native Mukhran Valley. In 2005 he became the first producer to gain organic certification in Georgia, and he has since become one of the country's foremost qvevri advocates — at a time when only a handful of producers still used the ancient clay vessels, now recognised by UNESCO as part of Georgia's cultural heritage.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
