Cantina Giardino "Na Vino" Bianco 2021
Started as a cultural rescue project for Irpinia's disappearing old vines, before it became a genuine benchmark for the region's natural wine.
Grape Varietals & Region: A blend dominated by Falanghina from Benevento, Coda di Volpe from the estate's vineyards in Montemarano, with a touch of Greco, all from old vines on the hillsides of Campania. The vines grow in volcanic soil and are tended organically.
Taste Profile: Bright, grippy and layered. Opens with a fragrant floral nose and pure fruit character. The palate is dry, structured, with just the right amount of tannin, showing pure stone fruit flavours, gentle mineral notes and a clean, salty finish — a great introduction to the house style.
Winemaking Process: Natural fermentation without temperature control, sometimes running for months. Each variety spends four days on skins before pressing. The wines are blended, then rest six months in concrete before bottling with no filtration or additions.
Winemaker: Antonio Di Gruttola and Daniela De Gruttola founded Cantina Giardino in the early 2000s as much a cultural project as a winery — a response to watching industrial farming strip Irpinia of its old local vines and traditional growing methods. Their approach from the start has been spontaneous fermentation with no filtering, clarifying or sulphites, working old vineyards of Aglianico, Falanghina, Coda di Volpe and other native Campanian varieties on volcanic hillside soils. They were among a handful of Italian pioneers of additive-free winemaking in the early 2000s, and their influence on the region's natural wine scene has only grown since.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
