Cantina Giardino "Fra Falanghina" 2021
A pure introduction to the house style, from old hillside vines above Benevento.
Grape Varietals & Region: A blend dominated by Falanghina from Benevento, Coda di Volpe from Montemarano, and a touch of Greco, from old vineyards on the volcanic-soil hillsides of Campania, farmed organically.
Taste Profile: Bright, grippy and layered, opening with a fragrant floral and pure fruit nose. The palate is dry and structured, with just the right amount of tannin, showing pure stone fruit flavours, gentle mineral notes and a clean, salty finish.
Winemaking Process: Natural fermentation without temperature control, which can continue for months; each variety spends four days on skins before being pressed off, then blended before six months of rest in concrete. No filtering or additions before bottling.
Winemaker: Cantina Giardino was founded in Irpinia, Campania in 1997 by Antonio Di Gruttola and Daniela De Gruttola as a cultural project to save old vines, and the traditional ways of growing and making wine, from disappearing. Sourcing fruit from 16 scattered parcels of vines 50 years and older, they work by spontaneous fermentation, without filtering, clarifying or sulphites.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
