Weinhof Szemes Glimmer Schiefer Weiss 2022

Weinhof Szemes Glimmer Schiefer Weiss is fruity, fresh and naturally cloudy. The palate is dry and the slate soil the vines grew in give the wine austerity, elegance and saltiness.

Blend of Chardonnay and Grüner Veltliner. The fruit for this wine comes from vines growing in the mica slate soils of Burgenland, Austria.

Selective manual harvest for perfectly ripe fruit. Fermentation in 500L wooden barrels and ageing on fine lees in the same barrels for 6–8 months. The wine is then drawn directly into the bottle without filtering.

Dry & Yeasty Whites

Open tank fermentation, lees stirring, pumping over and racking can all play a role during vinification, while oxidative aging in allows gradual air contact with the wine. Oak barrels & concrete tanks are most often used for such styles, and the more intense styles are often made under flor
