Vineyard Spotlight
Cellier Saint Benoit
Cellier Saint Benoit is a wine producer located on the slopes of Pupillin. The local wines from these very famous plots were recognised by decree in 1970, allowing them to add the name of the village to the “Arbois appellation controlled”, first appellation of France in 1936.
Domaine Anne-Sophie Dubois
Anne-Sophie grew up in Champagne and learned her craft in Burgundy. Her love for Gamay led her to Fleurie, where she now organically farms 8 hectares of vines. She is now upending Beaujolais and making her wines in a Burgundian style from her vineyard in Fleurie.
Vietti
Although they have been making wine for 4 generations, the turning point came in the 1960s when Luciana Vietti married winemaker and art connoisseur Alfredo Currado, whose intuitions – from the production of one of the first Barolo crus (Rocche di Castiglione – 1961), through the single-varietal vinification of Arneis (1967) to the invention of Artist Labels (1974) – made him both symbol and architect of some of the most significant revolutions of the time.
Abbadia Ardenga
Abbadia Ardenga, a winery which is part of the history of Brunello di Montalcino, is extremely special and definitely worth visiting, not only for its products but also for its outstanding charm. The estate has a very long history, having once belonged to the powerful Piccolomini family, whose members included Pope Pius II, responsible for the construction of the town of Pienza, a masterpiece of the Renaissance.
