Express Winemakers
Express Winemakers are about producing wines that are uniquely expressive of their origins.Â
Lethbridge Wines
Maree Collis and Ray Nadeson are not your average winemaker/owners of a boutique winery. Both were initially trained as research scientists and hold PhD degrees in chemistry and medicine, respectively. Mid career they made the decision to pursue their alternate passion and together with friend Adrian Thomas established Lethbridge Wines in 1996.
Lingua Franca
The Name “Lingua Franca" is a universal language that can bring people from diverse backgrounds together sharing a moment of pleasure. Lingua Franca, named after the Franks, was a universal language in the Middle Ages that could be understood by all and was used along the trade routes. It was the language of diplomacy and brought people together from diverse cultures. Lingua Franca also means to "speak frankly," directly, just as our wines aim to speak directly of their terroir, their place.
Vietti
Although they have been making wine for 4 generations, the turning point came in the 1960s when Luciana Vietti married winemaker and art connoisseur Alfredo Currado, whose intuitions – from the production of one of the first Barolo crus (Rocche di Castiglione – 1961), through the single-varietal vinification of Arneis (1967) to the invention of Artist Labels (1974) – made him both symbol and architect of some of the most significant revolutions of the time.
