England's answer to Champagne, made by the only winemaker to win English Wine Producer of the Year three times.
Grape Varietals & Region: Estate-grown Pinot Noir from Appledore, Kent, and the Goodwood Estate in West Sussex. Burgundian clones are planted for smaller volumes of more intensely flavourful fruit, thriving in each site's own microclimate — largely clay with sand and seashell subsoils in Kent, and predominantly chalk with flint loam on the South Downs in West Sussex.
Taste Profile: Pure intensity. Great finesse in the glass, expressive on the nose with fine-tuned notes of dried candied fruit and violet flower. Characteristically deep and complex, rich and powerful, with real intensity and weight on the palate — yet the balance keeps it delicate and neat through a refreshing, long, persistent finish.
Winemaking Process: Whole-bunch pressed and naturally settled, then fermented for 10 days at 18 to 20°C using a specialist sparkling wine yeast, largely in temperature-controlled stainless steel with a small percentage fermented in old oak barrels for complexity. Aged on lees for a minimum of 31 months before disgorgement.
Winemaker: Charlie Holland joined Gusbourne in 2013 after training at Plumpton College and working harvests across the Languedoc, Napa, the Rheingau and New Zealand, plus a stint as winemaker at Ridgeview in East Sussex. He's now the only three-time winner of the IWSC English Wine Producer of the Year. Gusbourne itself traces back to 1410, when the estate belonged to the nobleman John de Gosbourne — the three geese on the estate crest, still on the label today, come from his name. Vines weren't planted until 2004, when founder Andrew Weeber set out to make English sparkling wine that could rival the best in the world.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
