The 2015 vintage was also Fonseca's 200th anniversary year, which they gave a Guimaraens Vintage with a special commemorative label to mark the occasion
Guimaraens Vintage Ports are made in years when the wines are more supple and early maturing and Fonseca in vintages producing bigger, more long lasting Ports.
The 2015 Vintage Ports are attractive and approachable on the nose but supported by big, firm tannins. The Guimaraens Vintage 2015 will make excellent early drinking but will not disappoint those who prefer to cellar it for the future.’
Taste Profile: Opaque purple color, almost black, with a very narrow purple halo. Classic Fonseca nose, with an intense, almost intoxicating aroma of wild berries. The fruitiness is powerful but at the same time very fine and complex. Dense blackberry and cassis aromas are the base notes for the mentholated and balsamic herbal scents and the resinous character of cistus.
Discreet notes of exotic wood, licorice and black pepper add an additional dimension of complexity. The palate is built around a dense core of black fruits and the tannins, with their dense, tight weave, provide both structure and volume. Raspberry and plum aromas add freshness and lightness to the long, lush finish. The 2015 vintage, Fonseca's bicentennial year, produced an exceptional Vintage Guimaraens, expressive and accessible but with the necessary vigor to ensure a long life in the cellar.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
