Old-vine Jacquère off Chignin's limestone scree, left alone to taste like the mountain it comes from — barely any winemaking beyond a good press and a tank.
Grape Varietals & Region: Principally Jacquère, Savoie's everyday white grape grown here on anything but everyday terrain — around 50-year-old vines rooted in the limestone scree of the Combe de Savoie, in and around Chignin. Some vintages of this cuvée see a splash of Altesse blended in; Adrien Berlioz started with a tiny family estate in 2006 and now farms roughly 5 hectares across 17 parcels, organic since 2012 and biodynamic since 2020.
Taste Profile: White flowers and alpine herbs up front, then citrus zest, green apple and lemon on the palate, with a savoury almond note that lingers into the finish. Precise, saline, mountain-fresh — this is a wine for trout, a good chèvre, or a proper Savoyard fondue.
Winemaking Process: Whole clusters pressed directly, then fermented in tank with nothing added — no cultured yeast, no enzymes, no shortcuts. Malolactic fermentation happens on its own if it wants to, and the wine spends around four months in tank before bottling.
Winemaker: Adrien Berlioz is part of a new generation of Savoie growers taking the region's everyday grapes far more seriously than their reputation suggests. What started as a small family plot in 2006 is now a fully organic and biodynamic estate spread across 17 tiny parcels, each farmed and vinified with the kind of manual, unhurried attention usually reserved for grander appellations.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
