A sparkling wine with an endless life — turn a bottle of Puro upside down and its own permanent yeasts can keep it alive for years.
Grape Varietals & Region: A blend of 60% Chardonnay and 40% Ribolla, hand-picked from a vineyard averaging 32 years of vine age on limestone and marl soils in Goriška Brda, Slovenia, trained on single guyot.
Taste Profile: Golden colour with a medium orange-red hue. Fresh aromas of red berries and crisp apple give way to a secondary wave of brioche and yeast. The dry, soft-textured palate is complex yet smooth, creamy and pure, with persistent, lively bubbles and core flavours of baked apples and pears layered with apricot, orange peel, honey and brioche.
Winemaking Process: Primary fermentation happens in large tanks on natural yeasts drawn from a small pre-harvested portion (5%) of the same grapes. A 1-day maceration gives the wine its faint rosé hue before gentle low-pressure pressing. Secondary fermentation occurs on lees in oak barriques with no racking, ageing four years in barrique with no fining, filtration or added sulphites — and because it's never disgorged by the producer, each bottle has to be disgorged by hand at the table when it's opened.
Winemaker: Movia has belonged to the Kristancic family since 1820, when a Movia daughter married into the family; the estate itself dates back to 1700 and has survived through eight generations of winemaking in Goriska Brda, straddling the Slovenian-Italian border. Ales Kristancic, born in 1966, trained in oenology in Veneto and refined his craft during stints at Domaine de la Romanee-Conti and Chateau Petrus before converting the family's vineyards to organic and biodynamic farming. The estate even survived Yugoslavia's socialist era intact, serving as the only winery selected for President Tito's state receptions.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
