Pietracupa Campania Aglianico "Quirico" IGT 2019
A father returned to the countryside just to make Fiano for himself and his friends — his son turned it into one of Irpinia's most talked-about wineries.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Aglianico from Pietracupa's vineyards, which reach up to 800 metres with a south-eastern exposure in Montefredane, Campania — one of the highest, coolest pockets of Irpinia. The loamy, calcareous soils and wide temperature swings let the grapes ripen slowly and fully.
Taste Profile: A fragrant nose of plum, black pepper and leather. The palate is structured with a dynamic mouthfeel and great flavour depth, closing on a pleasantly tannic finish with long ageing potential.
Winemaking Process: Fruit is grown across Pietracupa's high-altitude Irpinia sites and vinified with the same meticulous, low-intervention care the estate applies to its celebrated whites.
Winemaker: Pietracupa began in the early 1970s when Peppino Loffredo bought a property on the hill of Montefredane, near Avellino, mainly to make Fiano for himself and close friends. Everything changed in 1999 when his son Sabino, back from years working on ships around the world, joined the family project and set out to measure himself against the world's great white wines. Under Sabino's direction, Pietracupa has grown steadily into one of Irpinia's most respected estates, known especially for Fiano di Avellino and Greco di Tufo of real depth — with reds like this Aglianico a smaller, no less serious part of the range.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
