All the freshness and aromatic intensity of a fine Albariño, from an estate whose winemaking history dates to 1591.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Albariño. The Pazo de San Mauro vineyards stretch across a 30-hectare estate in Salvaterra do Miño, Rías Baixas, on terraces of granite boulders that descend toward the river Miño. Sandy soil along the riverbank paired with granite bedrock on the higher slopes gives the site excellent conditions for this distinctive local grape, within the Condado do Tea sub-zone.
Taste Profile: High aromatic intensity with real quality of aroma — a bouquet of fruity notes, citrus, berries and white flowers. Highly varietal on the palate, with a broad, fresh attack that carries through to a balanced, persistent finish.
Winemaking Process: Grapes are hand-harvested with an initial selection of the best fruit in the vineyard. A third of the bunches are destemmed and macerated at a cool 11°C for better extraction of aroma and structure; another third is vinified as whole bunches for freshness and a more complex bouquet; the final third is destemmed and vinified directly to preserve maximum acidity and freshness on the palate.
Winemaker: Pazo de San Mauro takes its name from the 16th-century manor house that anchors the estate, built in 1591 for the noble Pereira de Castro family, descendants of Portugal's King Sancho I — remnants of an even older winery are still visible in its walls. In 2003, Bodegas y Viñedos del Marqués de Vargas acquired the historic 30-hectare property in Rías Baixas, restoring its noble buildings and building a new winery equipped for precision Albariño production.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
