Châteauneuf-du-Pape ambition wearing a Côtes du Rhône price tag — old vines, garrigue soul, and serious value.
Grape Varietals & Region: A blend of 65% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre, 5% Cinsault, and 5% Carignan, sourced from old vine parcels in the Southern Rhône, France. Fruit comes from a parcel in the village of Orange in the lieu-dit Saint Cardille, and two parcels in the village of Saint-Laurent-des-Arbres in the lieux-dits Gissac and Le Clau. The estate encompasses parcels of mainly 60+ year old vines, giving this wine a depth and concentration that far exceeds its appellation
Taste Profile: A beautiful introduction to Grenache from the Châteauneuf area — wonderful aromas of summer flowers and ripe red fruit that deftly fill out the full-bodied palate. Remarkably fine tannins for this appellation, with liquorice and sandalwood notes giving the lingering finish a lot of personality. Hints of Châteauneuf-du-Pape pervade each sip from this chiselled beauty, with expansive aromas of fresh boysenberry, black raspberry, and spice cake — seamless and concentrated on the palate, one of the most complex Côtes du Rhône wines made. Winemaking Process: Grapes are fermented in concrete tanks using indigenous yeasts, then aged in 75% cement vats, 15% foudre, 5% stainless steel, and 5% older barrique. Grapes are only partially destemmed before fermentation, with this partial whole-cluster approach helping to tamp down some of the richness and sweetness typical of Southern Rhône reds, lending them a spicy backbone. Vine rows are ploughed to control weeds and no pesticides are used, with Thierry Sabon preferring to let vintage conditions and the health of his grapes guide winemaking decisions each year

Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
