The Prisoner Carneros Chardonnay 2021
Chardonnay with a wild streak — Napa's most theatrical red-blend house turns its attention to white wine.
Grape Varietals & Region: A blend of Chardonnay, Roussanne and Gewürztraminer sourced from Carneros, the cool, fog-drenched AVA straddling Napa and Sonoma, where morning marine air slows ripening and preserves acidity even as the fruit reaches full flavour.
Taste Profile: Bursting with vanilla, crème brûlée and baked apple aromas. Full-bodied and rich on the palate, pineapple and toasted oak flavours integrate with balanced acidity through a smooth finish — the tropical, sun-kissed side of Chardonnay.
Winemaking Process: Hand-picked grapes are pressed immediately to separate juice from skins and seeds. After settling overnight, the juice is inoculated with yeast and moved to barrel to ferment, with lees stirred every other week through primary fermentation to build texture and balance.
Winemaker: Director of Winemaking Chrissy Wittmann leads the team behind this wine, continuing founder Dave Phinney's boundary-pushing streak (he debuted the original Prisoner red blend back in 2000). The Prisoner Wine Company works with a family of growers across California's most storied appellations, based on the legendary Highway 29 in Napa Valley.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
