Ciù Ciù Offida Pecorino "Merlettaie" Organic DOCG 2021
Named for the lace workers of Offida, whose precise, quick fingers mirror what it takes to coax quality out of a grape written off as too rustic for decades.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Pecorino, hand-harvested from vineyards around Offida and Acquaviva Picena in Ascoli Piceno province, at 280m above sea level — a noble, austere grape once confined to the bare, steep slopes of the Piceno Apennines before growers rediscovered it.
Taste Profile: Deep straw with green highlights. Opens with an intense, persistent floral bouquet of hawthorn blossom, vanilla and fresh-cut grass, rolling into a round, crisp palate with hints of banana, apple and hazelnut. Light, fresh and intensely flavoured.
Winemaking Process: Fermented in medium-sized "noble" oak barrels to build personality and strength, then aged around 6 months on the lees before a further 3 months' refinement in bottle.
Winemaker: Ciù Ciù was founded in 1970 by Natalino and Anna Bartolomei; today brothers Massimiliano and Walter Bartolomei run the organic estate near Offida, part of the same push that's helped rediscover Pecorino as a serious grape rather than a forgotten one.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
