Weingut Diwald Grüner Veltliner "vom Löss" 2025
Grüner Veltliner off Wagram's best loess sites, made by a family that's been farming organically since 1976 — half a century of it, and counting.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Grüner Veltliner sourced from Diwald's best loess sites — Goldberg, Gsang, Diebsnest and Hinter der Au — around Großriedenthal in Wagram, where deep, wind-blown loess soil is the defining terroir feature. Hans and Paula Diwald began converting the family farm to organic viticulture in 1976; their son Martin has since added biodynamic practices and banned commercial yeast from the cellar entirely.
Taste Profile: Ripe and spicy yet light on its feet — delicate florals, ripe apple and fresh peach, a hint of white pepper, fine minerality and lively acidity keeping the ripeness in check. Charming and food-friendly rather than austere.
Winemaking Process: Hand-harvested from early October, fermented spontaneously on native yeasts with no additions — the house style at Diwald across the entire range.
Winemaker: Martin Diwald took over the estate from his parents in 2006 and immediately banned commercial yeast from the cellar, committed to letting the site and the vintage speak without manufactured shortcuts. The loess soils of Wagram give Grüner Veltliner a particular richness, and this cuvée — pulling from the estate's best parcels — is Diwald's clearest expression of it.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
