A grand cru-quality Mosel side-valley, farmed without a single addition — no cultured yeast, no süssreserve, nothing.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Riesling from Dhroner Hofberg, a terraced grand cru vineyard in the Dhron valley — a side valley off the Mosel — that escaped the postwar land consolidations that flattened much of the region. Weathered Devonian slate mixed with quartzite, classified as an exceptional site by the Prussians back in 1868. Unlike classic south-facing Mosel slopes, Hofberg catches cool air descending from the Hunsrück hills, giving it a slightly later ripening curve. A.J. Adam is a small family estate in Neumagen-Dhron revived by siblings Andreas Adam and Barbara Gudelj after their grandparents' estate had gone dormant.
Taste Profile: GG-level intensity built on Hofberg's slate-quartzite backbone — dense, bone-dry and mineral-driven, with the vineyard's characteristic salinity carrying through a long, precise finish. Full bottle-fermented power without losing the site's inherent tension.
Winemaking Process: Hand-sorted after harvest, fermented on indigenous yeasts across a mix of stainless steel, fuder and halbfuder casks — no cultured yeast, no süssreserve, no additions of any kind. Though not a VDP member, Andreas designates his top Erste Lagen bottlings from Goldtröpfchen and Hofberg with GG on the label whenever the vintage ferments fully dry. Bottled under cork.
Winemaker: Andreas Adam and his sister Barbara Gudelj revived their grandparents' dormant family estate, combining formal training with knowledge picked up working alongside respected Mosel producers. Their whole approach is site-first and hands-off — Hofberg is treated less like a wine to be made and more like a place to be translated as faithfully as possible.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
