Walter Hansel South Slope Pinot Noir 2021
Grape Varietals & Region: Produced from 100% clone 777 Pinot Noir, from Russian River Valley, California, USA. The south slope vineyard is located at the southern tip and highest elevation of their vineyards.
Taste Profile: A medium ruby-purple color with deep aromas of cranberries, blackberries and rhubarb accented by blood orange, pipe tobacco and forest floor. The palate is medium-bodied, both powerful and elegant, with concentrated, detailed flavors, a silky, fresh frame and long, lifted finish.
Winemaking Process: Their processes are done in a way that each wine is allowed to express its unique character; never compromising the wine's freshness, finesse or texture. They hand harvest and manually sort; once in the vineyard and once in the winery. The Pinot Noir is destemmed and gravity guides the whole berries into open topped fermenters. Every vineyard block is traced from the harvest bins to the barrel to the settling tank before bottling.
