A clonal selection from 100-year-old Kadarka vines, treated with a light touch to let a nearly-forgotten grape show why it once defined this region.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Kadarka, selected from a clonal massale selection of the Vida family's 100-year-old vines in Szekszárd, southern Hungary — a region whose red wine identity was built on this grape long before Kékfrankos and international varieties took over.
Taste Profile: Bright ruby in the glass with fresh strawberry, raspberry and black cherry up front, playful spice and a touch of black pepper on a long, elegant finish — light-bodied and joyfully drinkable rather than serious.
Winemaking Process: No oak and minimal extraction, letting the old vines' natural fruit concentration and fresh acidity carry the wine rather than winemaking technique — a deliberately hands-off approach to a historically fragile, thin-skinned grape.
Winemaker: Vida Péter has spent his career championing Kadarka at a time most of Szekszárd moved on from it, working his family's century-old vines to prove the grape can be both delicate and structured rather than merely rustic.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
