Unico Zelo River Sand Fiano 2022

100% Fiano from Barmera, Riverland. Grown on iron rich sand on limestone, from the remarkable organic Bassham Vineyards in Barmera, the heat of the Riverland brings the fun to this wine

Lovely briney, vermouth-esque aromatics, plenty of wormwood and green olive under Riversand’s trademark whiffs of nectarine and a little grilled almond too. The slick, oily mouthfeel is there as always, but with a bit more check and balance. A lovely lemon juice-riddled salty acid line, before rolling into a wholemeal, toasty complexity. As refined an example of this wine as we’ve seen yet.

Bright & Mineral Whites

From the limestone character of Sancerre to the green, herbaceous Sauvignon Blanc of Marlborough, this style group often shows off cut grass and wet stone. Often associated with coastal regions or limestone based terroir, these wines are characterised with crisp acidity, mineraiity, citrus tones, with a hint of grassiness
