Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Montepulciano, from vineyards at 250–300 metres above sea level, on mainly clay-limestone soils, in Loreto Aprutino, Abruzzo, Italy. Torre dei Beati's oldest Montepulciano vineyard was planted in 1972 by Fausto's father-in-law, Rocco. When he's not restoring ruined palazzos, Fausto Albanesi spends his energy revitalising the reputation of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo — one of Italy's most maligned DOCs, thanks to decades of mass-market overproduction.
Taste Profile: Following the established house style across recent vintages, the wine smoulders up with mentholated herbal tones and a dusting of cocoa powder before giving way to dried black cherry and violet pastille aromas. It's round and soft in texture, with saturating red and blue fruits, while a core of brisk acidity maintains fantastic balance — finishing gently tannic and long, with a twang of bitter dark chocolate. Expect black cherries and blackberries with hints of roasted spices and dark chocolate on the nose, medium-bodied with chewy tannins and a tight, slightly granular finish. Seamless dark cherry fruit and subtle woodsmoke make this an excellent partner for grilled meats.
Winemaking Process: Fermentation takes place in steel tank and oak barrels — mainly used French oak barriques — for 15–18 months. Fausto Albanesi's wines are a perfect example of how new oak can be an excellent pairing with Montepulciano when used judiciously, and this entry-level wine makes for a wonderful introduction to the Torre dei Beati style — one of the best entry-level offerings in the region

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
