A glass of a grape you've probably never heard of — Zenit, a Hungarian cross found almost nowhere outside Somló, grown on volcanic soil that gives it more backbone than its obscurity suggests.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Zenit — a Hungarian cross of Bouvier and Ezerjó — grown on the volcanic basalt soils of Somló, a small hill in western Hungary whose wines have a centuries-old reputation for minerality and staying power.
Taste Profile: An inviting, fragrant nose of nectarine, mint and summer blossom leads into a zippy, high-acid palate with peach, wet-stone and a spicy finish — fresh and immediate rather than contemplative.
Winemaking Process: Fermented and matured with minimal intervention to preserve Zenit's natural aromatics and acidity, then released young to be drunk on its freshness.
Winemaker: The Tornai family has farmed Somló's volcanic slopes for three generations, focused on keeping rare local varieties like Zenit and Juhfark alive in a region most wine drinkers overlook entirely.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
