Grape Varietals & Region: 65% Grenache, 20% Mourvèdre, 15% Syrah from Gigondas in Rhone Valley, France
The old vines of Domaine Grand Romane are located on the highest part of the family vineyard, 400 m above sea level. Facing northwest, these hillsides dominated by upper Cretaceous sandstone limestone and sandy marl, offer power and concentration.
Taste Profile: This has the full body, concentration and spicy complexity that we expect from this appellation. Excellent interplay of elderberry fruit with licorice, wild herb and chocolate character and powerful but plush tannins. Bold but polished finish
Winemaking Process: Sorting the best bunches is possible only by hand picking. Harvest begins after a final tasting of the grapes, usually considerably later than the rest of the appellation. A traditional fermentation is carried on for Grenache and Syrah, while whole-bunch fermentation enhances the roundness and power of the mighty Mourvèdre. Once blended, the wine is aged for 18 months in barrels (45% old barrels and 15% new oak) and 40% in barrels to soften the structure and the tannins. Bottled without filtration

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
