Description

Oxer Buruzagi DO Rioja 2023

The name comes from Basque and means ‘thinking head’ in reference to the former King of the Kingdom of Navarra Eneko Aritza. The image shows Aritza ascending through the forest when he lost the crown

Grape Varietals & Region: A blend of Garnacha & Monastrell from Rioja, Spain. The fruit comes from old vineyards of Camprovin, in the Alto Najerilla area of Rioja Alta. It is a high altitude vineyard with clones of old Garnacha from La Rioja and Monastrell on clay-ferrous soils with slightly more than 10% stone

Taste Profile: Bursting with a floral, elegant nose of forest fruits on a mineral background. On the palatte it is elegant, broad, with bright acidity, soft tannins & long persistent finish

Winemaking Process: Spontaneously fermented in 1,000 liter French oak foudres. Malolactic fermentation and subsequent aging for 10 months in used 600L barrels.
