Description
Lumen Santa Maria Valley Pinot Noir 2018 is a wine that embodies the unique terroir of the Santa Maria Valley. With a deep ruby color and aromas of dark cherry, raspberry, and spice, this wine offers a complex and nuanced flavor profile that evolves with each sip. On the palate, flavors of red and black fruit, along with hints of clove and vanilla, mingle with a vibrant acidity and smooth tannins, leading to a long and satisfying finish.
Crafted by winemaker Lane Tanner, this Pinot Noir is a true expression of her passion for the varietal and the Santa Maria Valley. The grapes were carefully hand-picked, sorted, and fermented with native yeasts. The wine was then aged in French oak barrels for 16 months, with 30% new oak, to add complexity and depth.
Lumen Wines is a collaboration between two winemakers, Brian and Stephy Terrizzi, who share a passion for crafting small-batch, artisanal wines that express the unique terroir of California's Central Coast. Prior to starting Lumen, Brian and Stephy honed their winemaking skills at some of the most respected wineries in California, including Plumpjack, Paraduxx, and Giornata. With Lumen, they focus on producing site-specific wines that reflect the distinct qualities of each vineyard they work with.
