Exactly what it sounds like: a sake actually brewed with tomatoes and basil alongside the rice and koji, grown at Takagi Farm a short walk from the brewery on the shores of Niigata's Fukushimagata lagoon. It's not a doburoku and it's not hazy — it pours a genuinely clear, sparkling amber, closer to wine or brandy in the glass than sake.
Lagoon Brewery is a tiny micro-brewery built right on the lagoon it's named for, and this bottle is as playful as the name suggests — the ginjo aroma from the sake yeast layers straight over ripe tomato and basil, landing somewhere between a glass of orange wine and an actual margherita pizza.
Savoury, a little bitter, a little acidic, genuinely more-ish — treat it like a natural wine rather than a classic sake, and pour it with anything that already loves tomato and basil: pizza, fresh mozzarella, a simple pasta.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
