The only Burgundy estate making a red Puligny-Montrachet Village — and this, their white, is exactly the kind of precise, unshowy Puligny that made the appellation famous in the first place.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Chardonnay from a 3-hectare parcel of Puligny-Montrachet village land on clay-limestone soil, off vines averaging 44 years old. The domaine traces back to Joseph Pascal, who settled in the village in the early 1900s; his son Jean trained at Domaine Leflaive before buying vineyard plots of his own in the 1950s, and the estate proper was founded in 1975, expanding to 14 hectares across Puligny-Montrachet, Meursault, Auxey-Duresses and Volnay. Fourth-generation Alexandra Pascal — also the village's mayor — now runs the domaine, one of the very few in Burgundy making a red Puligny-Montrachet Village, from a tiny sub-half-hectare parcel.
Taste Profile: Hawthorn blossom, lemongrass, green apple and flint on the nose, with plenty of energy and density on the palate. Tight, mineral, persistent — precise rather than showy, with a long, flinty finish and just a whisper of nuttiness underneath the fruit. Andy Howard MW called it "classic Puligny... very precise, great acidity" for Jancis Robinson's site — 16.5/20 for a village-level wine is not nothing. Good with roast chicken in cream sauce, grilled lobster, or Epoisses if you're feeling bold.
Winemaking Process: Barrel-fermented and aged in oak for 11 months, 25% new — restrained enough to let the site talk. Alexandra Pascal farms sustainably with minimal intervention and uses local, native yeasts, running a nursery on the side dedicated to propagating young vines for future plantings.
Winemaker: Alexandra Pascal represents the fourth generation of a family that's been rooted in Puligny-Montrachet since her great-grandfather Joseph settled there in the early 1900s. The domaine only took his name in 2022 — before that it traded as Domaine Jean Pascal et Fils, after her grandfather, who trained under Domaine Leflaive before striking out on his own in the 1950s. Alexandra now splits her time between winemaking and being the village's actual mayor, a fitting role for someone whose family has spent four generations tending this specific patch of Burgundy.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
