A rare white from a Vosne-Romanée red-wine specialist — Grand Cru Pinot Noir is the house's real business, this is the side project.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Chardonnay, declassified to the generic Bourgogne appellation — an unusual choice from a domaine whose reputation is built almost entirely on red Grands Crus like Richebourg, Échezeaux, Grands Échezeaux and Clos de Vougeot. Gros Frère et Sœur was formed in 1963 when siblings Gustave and Colette Gros combined their inherited shares of their father Louis Gros's Vosne-Romanée estate; it's now run by Colette's nephew Bernard Gros, who continues to farm the domaine's 20 hectares across eight appellations with traditional, hands-on methods.
Taste Profile: The same meticulous, low-yield approach that defines the domaine's reds, translated into white — structured, precise Chardonnay with more depth than the humble Bourgogne appellation usually delivers, a reflection of Grand Cru-level farming standards applied to a lesser-known bottling. It offers crisp citrus, orchard fruit, and subtle mineral notes
Winemaking Process: Hand-harvested and aged in French oak barrels, following the same traditional vinification the domaine applies across its entire range regardless of appellation tier.
Winemaker: Bernard Gros inherited a domaine built for red wine — Vosne-Romanée is Pinot Noir country through and through — but farms this small Chardonnay parcel with the same rigor as the Grands Crus next door. It's a genuine rarity: proof that meticulous Burgundian winemaking doesn't need a famous appellation to show through.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
