The spirit of Bolgheri's pioneer estate — distilled from the very grape skins that built one of Tuscany's most celebrated Super Tuscans.
Grape Varietals & Region: Distilled from the pomace (grape skins, seeds, and stems) of Grattamacco's own Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Sangiovese vineyards in the Bolgheri DOC, Tuscany, Italy. Grattamacco is the second-oldest Bolgheri estate, founded in 1977 by Piermario Meletti Cavallari, with vineyards grown between 100 and 150 metres above sea level on the hilly terrain that gives the estate its name. Situated in the higher-altitude reaches of Bolgheri, nestled among copious woods and craggy, forested hills, Grattamacco stands apart from other estates in the region. As a true grappa, this spirit captures the essence of the same fruit that goes into the estate's celebrated Bolgheri Superiore
Taste Profile: A clear, aromatic grappa with the characteristic warmth and intensity of Tuscan pomace distillation — expect bright notes of dried red fruit and a touch of floral lift, carried through on a clean, spirited finish, echoing the fruit character of the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Sangiovese from which it's drawn. Best enjoyed neat, well-chilled, as a digestivo to close out a meal — traditionally served after dinner alongside coffee, or simply on its own
Winemaking Process: Distilled from fresh grape pomace immediately following the harvest and pressing of Grattamacco's wine grapes, preserving the aromatic compounds locked within the skins. This traditional Italian distillation method transforms what would otherwise be a winemaking by-product into a fragrant, high-proof spirit — a practice with deep roots throughout Tuscany and the broader Italian wine industry

Situated in the heart of Tuscany, ColleMassari comprises the estates of Castello ColleMassari, Grattamacco, Tenuta San Giorgio and Poggio di Sotto. Grattamacco is the oldest estate, founded at the end of the 70s, and together they represent Tuscany

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
