Ghost Rock Estate "Sauvignon Blanc" 2026
Sauv Blanc from a vineyard with no neighbours, no playbook, and a front-row seat to Bass Strait.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Sauvignon Blanc from Ghost Rock's estate on Tasmania's Cradle Coast, a region the Arnold family pretty much pioneered. They set up here in 2001 on a run-down property with a smattering of vines, when nobody else was planting seriously on the north-west coast, and built the area's first winery. Sauvignon Blanc is a small part of the ~26 hectare vineyard (Pinot Noir leads, with Chardonnay and Pinot Gris behind), which means this is a bottle most people will never see on a Tassie shelf. The vines sit in cool, maritime air rolling off Bass Strait, the same conditions that make the estate's Pinot so good.
Taste Profile: Expect the cool-climate Sauv Blanc script: crunchy citrus and green herbs, with zippy acidity and a dry, fresh finish. Think oysters, goat's cheese, or a long lunch that turns into dinner. (Winery tasting notes for this vintage weren't published at time of writing, so this reflects the estate and variety rather than a quoted note.)
Winemaking Process: Ghost Rock describes its estate approach as a lighter hand, with winemaking as facilitation rather than imprinting a watermark. Everything is grown, made and bottled on site, so the team can trace the story from vine to bottle.
Winemaker: Sierra Blair grew up in a family of California grape growers, studied viticulture and oenology at UC Davis, worked vintages in California, France, New Zealand and Australia, then fell for Tasmania. She has made the wines at Ghost Rock since 2019, alongside owner Justin Arnold. Her goal for the estate range: people should "taste what these varieties taste like on our dirt".

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
