Drei Donà Sangiovese di Romagna "Predappio Notturno" DOC 2018
Named after a horse, born from a love story, and rooted in land where Sangiovese has grown since the Etruscans — this is Romagna in its purest form.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Sangiovese, from the Tenuta La Palazza estate, in the Predappio sub-zone of the Sangiovese di Romagna DOC, Emilia-Romagna, Italy. The Drei Donà estate is nestled in the ancient Romagna hills between the towns of Forlì, Castrocaro, and Predappio — this is the land where Sangiovese is born, having been produced here since Roman and Etruscan times. The estate sits on a rounded slope 500 feet above sea level, with perfect southern exposure and clay-calcareous soils considered ideal for fine wine cultivation. The farmhouse was built around a watchtower erected in 1481 by Caterina Sforza in this strategic defensive position.
Taste Profile: Red ruby in colour, complex and typical, with notes of red fruits, black spices, and a balsamic finish — smooth and balanced, with good persistence and freshness. In the 2021 vintage, the wine is perfumed with violet and white flowers, with hematic and citrus notes that return on the palate too — supple, fleshy, and sweetly fruity on the finish — a profile broadly consistent across vintages of this house style. Notturno is the historic Sangiovese of Tenuta La Palazza, a proud ambassador of the Predappio sub-zone, born from a careful selection of the family's best grapes, harvested, vinified, and aged separately before assembly to fully express the soul of the Romagna terroir.
Winemaking Process: Traditional fermentation takes place in concrete and stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. A prolonged maceration on the skins increases extraction, giving the wine its body and colour. Malolactic fermentation is completed in steel tanks before the wine ages for about a year in large French oak barrels and Allier tonneaux

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
