Domaine Roux Père & Fils Vougeot 1er Cru "Les Petits Vougeots" 2022
Premier cru Pinot Noir from a vineyard right next to Clos de Vougeot, made by a Saint-Aubin family that quietly owns a little over a hectare of it.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Pinot Noir, 13% ABV, from Les Petits Vougeots, a Vougeot premier cru in the Côte de Nuits. The domaine owns about 1.2 hectares of marly clay soils just north of the Clos de Vougeot walls, a spot that tends to give Pinot more perfume and finesse than muscle.
Taste Profile: Spiced red fruit, fresh and layered with a fine, faint tannin, as described for the 2018 vintage; we haven't found a 2022-specific note, so expect the same finesse-over-power style. Try it with duck, game birds or mushroom dishes.
Winemaking Process: Hand-harvested and aged 15 to 18 months in wood after fermentation, per the importer listing. Domaine Roux has been moving from 228L barrels to larger 300 to 500L formats.
Winemaker: Sébastien and Matthieu Roux run the estate from Saint-Aubin. Vougeot and Chambolle-Musigny (2.2 ha in 18 parcels) are their small foothold in the Côte de Nuits, a long way from home turf.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
