Entry-level white Burgundy from a Saint-Aubin family with over 100 cuvées to their name, proof that you don't need a Grand Cru budget to drink Chardonnay properly.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Chardonnay under the regional Bourgogne appellation, the broadest and most accessible tier of Burgundy. It's the bottle that shows a producer's house style without the village-name price tag, which is exactly why it's the one to open first.
Taste Profile: Past vintages of this bottling have shown hazelnut, honey, butter and a touch of spice, and that's the register to expect: round and nutty rather than sharp and green. We couldn't find a note specific to the 2022, so treat this as house-style guidance. Easy with fish, shellfish and soft cheeses.
Winemaking Process: The domaine works with oak across its range and has been shifting from 228L barriques towards larger 300 to 500L formats, with some parcels farmed organically. We couldn't source the specific élevage for this cuvée, so we're not putting numbers on it.
Winemaker: Domaine Roux Père & Fils is a Saint-Aubin family estate, run today by brothers Sébastien and Matthieu Roux. They farm roughly 70 hectares from Mercurey down to the southern Côte de Beaune, make 100+ cuvées, and ship around 65% of it abroad. Sources differ on the founding year (1855 or 1885), but the family has been in Saint-Aubin since the 19th century.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
