Curati Vinho Fizei Tinto 2021

Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Castelao coming from 20 year old vines in the Alenquer area of Lisboa, Portugal.

Taste Profile: Bright red in colour, its initial aromas are reminiscent of olives, evolving into intense notes of jam and wild berries. On the palate, the barrel tannins are harmoniously integrated, creating a balance between fruit and wood

Winemaking Process: It undergoes spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in open-top barrels, with minimal use of sulphur. The crushed and destemmed grapes ferment and age in the same barrels, completing both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation. A further 6 months of ageing on the skins follows in the barrel, after which the wine is bottled with light filtration, without stabilisation, to allow for the possible formation of natural sediment
