Domaine des Deux Roches Pouilly-Fuissé Vieilles Vignes 2023
Named for the twin limestone rocks of Vergisson and Solutré, from a Mâconnais estate built by two families joined by marriage.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Chardonnay from three parcels in the hamlets of Pouilly, Solutré and Fuissé, Burgundy, France, grown on southeast-facing slopes of the Vergisson escarpment, where Burgundy's semi-continental climate and sun exposure let the grapes ripen quickly.
Taste Profile: A deep gold colour, opening with intense brioche notes before evolving toward stone fruit, flowers and minerals. The light-to-medium-bodied palate is complex, with green apple, citrus and creamy oak notes over a mineral austerity that carries into an impressive finish.
Winemaking Process: After slow pressing in a pneumatic press, the free-run juice is drained and settled at low temperatures before moving to oak barrels (30% new). Alcoholic fermentation happens in oak, followed by malolactic fermentation and ageing on lees in oak until the following spring.
Winemaker: Domaine des Deux Roches traces back to 1928, when Joanny Collovray settled in Davayé, south Burgundy, and his son Henri later expanded the family's vine holdings in the Mâcon-Davayé appellation. In 1986, Joanny's grandson Christian Collovray partnered with childhood friend Jean-Luc Terrier — the two having married sisters from another winegrowing family — to found the estate, naming it for the limestone rocks of Vergisson and Solutré that define the Mâconnais landscape.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
