Cisteller "Lucidity" Corpinnat 2023
Clarity, distilled into a bottle — a young Catalan estate's tribute to dry-farmed mountain vineyards and a rulebook stricter than most Champagne.
Grape Varietals & Region: A blend of Xarel·lo and Macabeu — with notably less Macabeo in 2023 — sourced from vineyards in the Muntanyes d'Ordal, in the Penedès, Catalonia, Spain. All vineyard blocks share similar soil compositions, consisting of deep marine-limestone bedrock with a limestone-clay topsoil. All vineyards are dry-farmed and certified organic. 2023's growing cycle was marked by extreme drought across all the estate's vineyards, with very limited rainfall — harvest began the first week of August and, as expected, yielded very low quantities (2–3.5 tonnes per hectare), but with excellent quality and intense concentration. Produced under the Corpinnat designation — a collective trademark for sparkling wines from 46 municipalities across the Penedès region, governed by some of the strictest rules in Spanish winemaking.
Taste Profile: A Mediterranean sparkler with energy, structure, and freshness, though it carries real ripeness — aromatic, with notes of herbs and even traces of red fruit. The palate is sharper and very tasty, with a slate-like, savoury, bone-dry finish, and small bubbles that give it real texture. Rated 93pts by Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. On the nose, freshness is prominent with citrus aromas reminiscent of ripe lemons and grapefruits, while on the palate, a creamy texture akin to oyster shell meets a fine mousse that caresses the palate, merging with delicate chalky mineral notes.
Winemaking Process: Every block was hand-harvested separately. All the fruit was whole-bunch pressed at very low pressure, followed by light racking. Each block ferments separately, using a combination of stainless steel and 300-litre French oak barrels. The wine is held sur lie for an 11-month élevage to allow for slow evolution and natural stability, before bottling and a minimum of 18 months ageing en-tirage prior to disgorgement — with no SO2 added at disgorgement

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
