Blankbottle "The Bomb" 2021
Cabernet grown on two mountains facing each other, blended into one bold Stellenbosch red.
Grape Varietals & Region: A blend of seven different vineyards of Cabernet Sauvignon, with a splash of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot grow on the Helderberg facing the Stellenbosch mountain, and the Cabernet Franc on the Stellenbosch mountain facing the Helderberg.
Taste Profile: Intense aromas of dark berries, blackcurrant and vanilla, with subtle hints of tobacco and spice. A firm tannic structure on the palate, with flavours of ripe black fruit, plum and chocolate, leading to a long, satisfying finish.
Winemaking Process: Grapes picked at optimal ripeness and cooled overnight to 4°C, destemmed the next morning to open-top fermenters for spontaneous fermentation, left on the skins as long as possible, then pressed into older French oak barrels for 18 months before blending and bottling.
Winemaker: Blankbottle is the work of Pieter H. Walser, who came to winemaking via Stellenbosch University after a restless few years split between farming and surfing. He owns no vineyards, instead building each cuvée from parcels scattered across the Cape Winelands — here pitting Helderberg against Stellenbosch mountain in a single wine named for the fight between the two.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
