Ca dei Frati "Cuvée dei Frati" Brut Metodo Classico NV
A fourth-generation Lugana family builds its sparkling wine almost entirely from a grape most people have never heard of.
Grape Varietals & Region: Turbiana — a regional clone of Verdicchio, also known locally as Trebbiano di Lugana — with a small portion of Chardonnay, hand-harvested from Ca dei Frati's best vineyards in the Lugana zone spanning Lombardy and Veneto.
Taste Profile: Pale yellow with fine, persistent bubbles. A complex nose of yellow fruit, floral notes, brioche, biscuit and hazelnut, hay and seasoned tobacco. Lively and refreshing on the palate, with crisp acidity and a subtle minerality, closing in an elegant, well-balanced finish.
Winemaking Process: Made in the traditional Metodo Classico method, with a minimum of 24 months ageing on the lees before disgorgement, building the wine's depth and complexity.
Winemaker: Ca dei Frati has been in the hands of the Dal Cero family since patriarch Felice Dal Cero began cultivating these vines in 1939, on land the family has worked since 1782. His son Pietro bottled the first Lugana DOC wine roughly three decades later and helped shape the appellation itself; since his death in 2012, his wife Santa Rosa and children Igino, Gian Franco and Anna Maria have run the estate, built almost entirely around Turbiana, the grape most of the world still doesn't know by name.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
