An easy, generous introduction to Cahors, the corner of southwest France that calls Malbec its own long before Argentina did.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Malbec — locally called Cot or Auxerrois — organically farmed in Cahors, Occitanie, France, the appellation widely considered Malbec's spiritual home. Jean-Luc Baldès has spent his career developing the estate's varied range of wines at the highest level, all while keeping the traditional winery, passed down to him across generations, true to its essence.
Taste Profile: A dark ruby red colour, with a generous nose of intense red fruit and sweet plum. Lively and rich in the mouth, with ripe, fruity notes, round and delicious with silky tannins — an easy-drinking invitation to Cahors, showing the purity of the grape variety. Ideal with toast and hot canapés, grilled meats and charcuterie, and well suited to a generous, friendly table with friends or family.
Winemaking Process: Mechanised harvest, followed by classic vinification in stainless steel tanks. Conventional yeasts are used so fermentation isn't delayed, running 20–30 days, with malolactic fermentation completing before Christmas following the harvest. The wine ages in stainless steel tanks for 18 months.
Winemaker: Jean-Luc Baldès is known in Cahors as the "Master of Malbec" — a title earned through the strength of character and perseverance it took to learn how best to exploit his estate's finest plots. He has developed a wide, ambitious range of wines without losing the essence of this traditional winery, passed down to him after many generations, with each new release as audacious as the last.

Seven generations of the Baldès family have grown Malbec at Clos Triguedina since 1830, on terraces above the Lot river in Cahors. Jean-Luc Baldès, the region's 'master of Malbec,' also revived Cahors' historic medieval black wine.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
