Judith Beck "Judith" Blaufränkisch 2017
A cuvée named after the winemaker herself and made purely to her own taste — no rules, no compromises.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Blaufränkisch from the Gabaeinza vineyard in Gols, on the shores of Lake Neusiedl in Burgenland — Austria's warmest wine region, where the lake acts as a natural heat store, soaking up sunshine by day and releasing it through the night. The vines grow on sandy loam over limestone, part of the roughly 20 hectares Judith farms biodynamically around Gols.
Taste Profile: Deep red in the glass, with rich red fruit and spice on the nose. Light-bodied and fruit-forward, red plum and cherry up front, rounded out by soft tannins and bright acidity, with a funky little twist of ash and earth on the finish.
Winemaking Process: Hand-harvested and fermented with native yeasts, left unfined and unfiltered, with zero or barely-there sulfur added — a hands-off approach that lets the Gabaeinza fruit do the talking.
Winemaker: Judith Beck is a third-generation winemaker in Gols who took over the family estate in 2004 after studying at Klosterneuburg and working vintages at Château Cos d'Estournel, Braida and Errázuriz. She began converting the estate to biodynamics in 2007, part of the wider Pannobile growers' shift to organic and biodynamic farming in Burgenland. "Judith" is the wine she makes purely for herself — the one bottling with no rules attached.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
