The fruit for this wine comes from Château Marsys estate vineyards in the southern part fo the Bekaa Valley. The terroir is a plateau that extends between Mount Lebanon and mountains known as Anti-Lebanon, at an altitude that 900 metres. Geologists understand the Bekaa as an alluvial plain cradled between two mountains. The soil is red with a clay-limestone bedrock, which suits the vines well.
Taste Profile: Château Marsyas Rouge is a premium Lebanese wine with a dark red colour and purple reflections. Fresh wild strawberry bouquet with touches of liquorice and leather. Precise and elegant with a generous palate balancing fresh acidity and soft, fine tannins. Sweet black cherries, fresh strawberries and blackcurrants create a rich fruit flavour that has layers of liquorice, cocoa and a touch of earth cutting through it. Closes in a long and silky finish that leaves a beautiful acidic balance.
