An Argentine oil billionaire's wind-farm land turned out to be some of Uruguay's best vineyard granite.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Viognier, from Bodega Garzón's estate vineyards near Punta del Este and José Ignacio, Uruguay, just eleven miles from the Atlantic Ocean. Over 1,000 small vineyard blocks cover the hillside slopes, benefiting from varying microclimates and intense canopy management for maximum sun exposure, on decomposed granite soils prized for their drainage and minerality.
Taste Profile: A bouquet of ripe white peach, melon and honeysuckle opens the wine. The elegant palate carries firm acidity and a creamy mouthfeel, with fresh peach, dried apricot and melon flavours cut by a steely, refreshing minerality through an intense finish.
Winemaking Process: Grapes are hand-harvested, then fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at 17°C for two weeks. The wine ages on lees in stainless steel for 3–6 months before bottling.
Winemaker: Bodega Garzón was founded in 2008 by Argentine businessman Alejandro Bulgheroni, who purchased the land in 2006 with initial plans for a wind farm. Consultant winemaker Alberto Antonini assessed the site's granite hills and identified their potential for premium vinifera, leading to first plantings in 2007 and an $85 million investment that turned Garzón into Uruguay's largest wine exporter.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
