Catena Zapata Chardonnay 2023
Four vineyards, four distinct voices, blended into one clean, mineral-driven white.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Chardonnay from four vineyards in Mendoza, Argentina: Agrelo at 950m (citrus and peach character), Villa Bastias at 1,120m (stone fruit aromas and rich texture), Gualtallary at 1,450m (lively florals, strong mineral character and bright acidity) and El Cepillo at 1,090m.
Taste Profile: Bright lemon-yellow colour. Clean and approachable, with integrated acidity and focused flavour — pure aromas of peach and flowers lead into a firm, savoury finish with a suggestion of spice.
Winemaking Process: Whole-cluster pressed, then fermented and left sur lies in a mix of barrel and stainless steel. Aged 10 months in French oak, with 40% of the grapes bypassing malolactic fermentation to preserve freshness.
Winemaker: Bodega Catena Zapata was founded in 1902 by Italian immigrant Nicola Catena, and it was his grandson Nicolas Catena Zapata who, from the 1980s, drove the research into high-altitude Mendoza terroir that put Argentine Malbec on the world map. Today his daughter, fourth-generation vintner Dr Laura Catena, leads the winery and its Catena Institute of Wine — alongside a career as a practising physician in California — while Alejandro Vigil, chief winemaker since 2002, became the first in South America to earn a 100-point score from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
