Ferdinand's Saar Quince 500ml
A Riesling-cut homage to sloe gin, made with quince grown right behind a Saar distillery that fuses gin-making with serious German wine country.
Ferdinand's Saar Quince takes Britain's classic sloe gin and reimagines it with fruit native to the Saar: freshly harvested Muscat quinces and a rare Pear Quince strain grown behind the distillery, infused alongside the estate's own Rausch Kabinett Riesling. The base is Ferdinand's Saar Dry Gin itself — a 30-botanical blend running from common aromatics (angelica, coriander, ginger) through florals (lavender, rose) to genuine oddities like sloe and lemon thyme — cut with Riesling rather than water, then sweetened and coloured a warm golden hue by the quince. On the palate it drinks jammy and tart, all ripe plum and sour cherry up front, a whisper of juniper and ginger through the middle, and a lingering finish of stone fruit and quince sharpened by the wine's natural acidity.
Ferdinand's launched in 2013 as a collaboration between Denis Reinhardt and Erik Wimmers of Capulet & Montague, master distiller Andreas Vallendar of the Avadis Distillery — whose family has distilled on their Wincheringen estate since 1824 — and winemaker Dorothee Zilliken of the Saar's storied Zilliken estate. The gin itself is named for Ferdinand Geltz, who co-founded that same VDP Mosel-Saar-Ruwer property generations earlier.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
