Château Purcari 1827 Traminer de Purcari 2021
Named for the year Purcari's estate was recognised by imperial decree, made from a grape variety documented since 1834.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Traminer, grown in estate vineyards close to the Black Sea in Moldova. The first clear written mention of Traminer wine dates to 1834, though the variety itself has been known since the 15th century — a pedigree that fits an estate whose own winemaking history stretches back to 1827, when Russian Emperor Nicholas I recognised Purcari by decree as Bessarabia's first specialised winery.
Taste Profile: Light, fresh and memorable, with subtle floral notes of jasmine and rose filling the nose before an extremely soft, fruity palate. Balanced and fresh, with a long, velvety aftertaste.
Winemaking Process: Careful hand harvesting and selection of the fruit, produced using traditional methods and fermented in stainless steel tanks to keep the wine's floral, fruity character intact.
Winemaker: The '1827' in the name is a direct nod to the year Purcari's estate was formally established by imperial decree, and the winery has leaned on that historical weight ever since — the same estate whose Negru de Purcari won gold at the 1878 Paris World Exhibition and whose wines were later served to European royalty. Traminer here plays a quieter role than Purcari's flagship reds, but the same insistence on traditional methods and estate fruit close to the Black Sea runs through it.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
