Jean-Claude Bachelet Bourgogne Chardonnay 2023
Grand Cru soul in a village wine — this is Burgundy punching well above its appellation.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Chardonnay, sourced from a parcel bordering the prestigious Chassagne-Montrachet appellation in the Côte de Beaune, Burgundy, France. The domaine's vineyards sit within the golden triangle formed by the communes of Saint-Aubin, Chassagne-Montrachet, and Puligny-Montrachet, covering around 10 hectares of Chardonnay farmed biodynamically. 2023 was the first vintage to be certified organic by ECOCERT, though the Bachelets have been farming organically for many years.
Taste Profile: Shows a lovely nose of yellow fruits, with more roundness than tension but a very polished, tactile feel. On the palate, notes of plum, nectarine, and peach make for a little festival of stone fruit. The wine delivers incredible aromatic complexity and mouthfeel that goes far beyond a typical regional Burgundy — this is a "great" Burgundy in everything but name
Winemaking Process: Hand harvested, with each plot pressed and vinified individually to preserve the characteristics specific to each parcel. Matured for 8 months in barrel (without new wood), followed by 5 months in vat. The domaine uses exclusively indigenous yeasts, practices very long élevage spending a minimum of two winters in large barrels, and places particular care on gentle pressing of the grapes

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
