Tastes like peaches and cream — from the estate that planted the Hemel-en-Aarde's very first Viognier vineyard.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Viognier from a cool, south-facing slope in South Africa's Walker Bay wine region, at 350 metres altitude on rich clay and loam soils — Creation was the first producer to plant Viognier in the Hemel-en-Aarde.
Taste Profile: Joyful and vivacious, like a walk through a fynbos garden in spring. Clear, shiny pale gold colour, with an abundantly fruity yet refined bouquet of white peach, ripe pear and honeysuckle florals. The smooth palate carries distinctive white peach and apricot flavours through a rich, creamy mouthfeel, crisp minerality and bouncy acidity.
Winemaking Process: Manually harvested, then fermented in stainless steel tanks at 15°C without malolactic fermentation. Matures on fine lees for 2–3 months before bottling.
Winemaker: Creation was founded in 2002 by Swiss winemaker Jean-Claude (JC) Martin and his South African wife Carolyn on previously unplanted land atop the Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge, after Carolyn's uncle Peter Finlayson — founder of nearby Bouchard Finlayson — alerted them to the site's potential. Both come from winemaking families: Carolyn's father Walter Finlayson helped found Glen Carlou, while JC's grandfather Jules established the family's Swiss winery on Lake Bienne in 1935. It took the couple roughly a decade to turn the raw hillside into a profitable estate.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
